Constructing Knowledge
Constructive Knowledge is the foundation for effective teaching. Learners construct knowledge based on their past experiences and then use this knowledge to build upon their own existing knowledge, creating meaning for themselves. The process of understandingconstructive knowledge is fascinating and when a teacher understands exactly how a student learns the teaching process becomes easier and purposeful. Using Constructivist learning theory sees the role of teacher change to the role of a guide or coach who encourages students to become responsible for their own individual learning.
